Duties & Responsibilities

According to RSA 32:1, the purpose of the municipal Budget Committee is "to assist voters in the prudent appropriation of public funds."  More generally, the Budget Committee oversees and analyzes the expenditures of the various Town Departments to assist the electorate, which may be without the detailed knowledge necessary to vote intelligently on many budgetary matters.  The Budget Committee sets the Town's Operating Budget and makes recommendations to the electorate on all financial warrant articles.
