Our activities range from pre-school sports programs like Sporty Shorties, to youth soccer, softball and field hockey, to adult sports leagues, to Senior Bus Trips--we literally have something for everyone. We also organize various races throughout the year including the Granite Man and Granite Kid Triathlons, Turkey Trot 5K Race and the Abenaki Winter Triathlon.

To view and register for our activites, you can do the following:
  • Online: Click here to view activities and register online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • In Person: Our Registrar is available to register you in person at our offices at the Pop Whalen Arena at 390 Pine Hill Rd. The best hours to register in person are 9am to 1pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
  • By Mail: Download a Brochure and Registration Materials or pick up a Brochure at the Wolfeboro, Tuftonboro or Brookfield Town Halls and Libraries, browse at your leisure and mail in registration forms and checks.

Arbor Day Celebration
Location: Foss Field (Soccer Field)
Come celebrate Arbor Day in Wolfeboro! The Staff of the Parks and Rec Department, along with local classes and our Tree Warden Kirk Titus will be holding an Arbor Day Celebration at Foss Field at the Soccer Fields. After a short ceremony, we will be splitting into groups and planting trees and flowers at two designated locations. Come with work clothes, gloves and a spirit of service. The Town of Wolfeboro has been a Tree City USA for the past 29 consecutive years.

Archery Camp
Ages: 7 years old to Adult
Location: Abenaki Ski Area   
This program is for individuals who have never shot a bow or who have shot and want to improve their skills. First Day topics include: NTS shooting form used by Olympic Archers, safety procedures and range rules. On the Second day par-ticipants will enjoy a variety of fun archery games and activi-ties. The third day will have Olympic Style Target Archery as the main focus with a tournament competition. Information will be on tournament rules, scoring procedures and sports-manship. All equipment is provided or bring your own for instructor approval.

Muddy Moose Trail Race
Location: Kingswood Regional H.S.
Named Best of New Hampshire by New Hampshire Magazine, the proceeds of this race benefit the Kingswood Regional High School Track and Cross Country Teams. Choose a 4 or 14 mile race. For more information, contact http://www.ferguscullen.com

The Great Smith River Canoe Race
Location: Albee Beach

Meet at Town Garage to receive blue bags and be assigned a road to pickup. We are encouraging groups, businesses, fami-lies, etc. to put together "street teams" for this day of community spring cleanup
Sculptures in the Park
This program of Wolfeboro Arts On The Edge will bring art out of the museums and out to the people during teh summer months. Sculptures commissioned by artists throughout the country will be on display throughout the summer in Cate Park and on the grounds of First Congregational Church.
Fishing Derby
Ages: 12 years old and under (Must be with parent)
Location: Whitten Pond on Route 109A in Tuftonboro
Harriman-Hale Post #18, American Legion, and Fidelity # 71, International Order of Odd Fellows are sponsoring this fishing derby. Refreshments will be available and served free of charge to all who attend. For more information call 569-6396

Bike and Walk Day
Location: Huggins Hospital & Cate Park
Celebrate the National Bike and Walk day by joining your fellow citizens in walking and biking to work or school on May 13th! Join other bikers and walkers for a free breakfast buffet celebration and coffee at Cate Park and Huggins Hospital in downtown Wolfeboro. The Parks and Recreation van will also scout out walkers and bicyclists and award prizes to everyone who they catch biking and walking!
You can also register your company or school to compete in the Bike and Walk Day Contest (details on the Parks and Recreation Page of the town website www.wolfeboronh.us). The schools and businesses with the highest participation rate will win great prizes, awards and recognition.
Biking and walking increase your health and well being, reduce parking and pollution problems, saves gas and money, and reduces our carbon footprint.
Chunky Dunk Duathlon
Location: Allen Albee Beach
The Course: 1/2 mile swim and 5K run

The Nicholas J. Peronkas Chunky Dunk Duathlon is a .5 mile swim in beautiful Lake Wentworth and a 5k run though the scenic woodland trails of Wolfeboro N.H. ending at The Nicholas J. Peronkas Recreation Park on Rte. 28, directly across from the Allen Albee Motel. All proceeds go directly to The Wolfeboro Area Recreation Association
Fall Soccer Camp
All Ages & Abiltys
        Young players are introduced to the game through fundamental activities, games and fun soccer challenges. Parents are encouraged to join in and help guide their child in this fun learning experience.
           Fun games, competitions and skill building activities are designed to enlighten and develop budding players.
            Emphasis is placed on skill development and mastery  of core techniques through individual and small group practices and coached games.  
            A more advanced camp for serious players, focuses on game-related techniques, tactical development and coach matched play.
           The Host Program has become one of the most popular elements of Challenger's British Soccer Camp program. Each year we receive hundreds of emails from families telling us what an incredible time they had hosting one of our coaches. In return, not only will you receive a rebate of up to $80 towards the cost of your summer soccer camp fees, but more importantly you will enjoy a unique week learning about the UK, learning about soccer and building lasting friendships with our staff.
We encourage our coaches to fit in with the normal      pattern of your family life. We would like you to provide the coach with a bed; showering facilities; laundry         facilities and breakfast, sack lunch and dinner.

Join Wolfeboro Parks and Recreation in celebration of our nation’s independence. Atlas Pyrovision Productions will be putting on one of the biggest and best shows in the Lakes Region!
Golf Classes
All Group Classes include 5 one hour lessons, lesson booklet, pro shop discounts. All classes are led by certified PGA & LPGA Professionals. We have created an atmosphere for learning and FUN! We provide golf clubs if you do not have them.
Ages: 16 through adult  
Location: Kingswood Golf Club  
Beginner Golf
Open to any person who wants to learn to play golf, any person who has not played golf in a long time and wants to get back into it. Instruction includes full swing, chip-ping, putting, etiquette, course management. Come out and meet some new people or start learning with a friend.
Advanced Golf  
Open to all golfers who want to get a head start this sea-son. After 4 months without swinging a club, it takes a few weeks to get it back. Let us help you get it back without all the bad habits. Full swing and short game are the focus.
Granite Kid Triathlon
Ages: 5 & under, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-16
Location: Brewster Beach
Registration: Required prior to July 8
The Award Winning Granite Kid course distances are: swim (variable), bike a one-mile loop, run 4/5 mile. The first 75 to register and show up will get a T-shirt.
Granite Man Triathlon
Location: Carry Beach
The Course: 3/4 mile swim, 15 mile bike, 4.2 mile run
The Granite Man is a short course triathlon that attracts competitors from throughout New England and beyond. Traditionally held the 3rd Saturday in August, the race fills to capacity every year so register early. Proceeds go to the Albert Dow III Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to the Kingswood Regional High School senior who exemplifies unselfish devotion to the service of mankind.
Hershey Track and Field
Ages: 9-14 years old by December 31, 2011
Location: The Nick  
This is an amazing program that is sponsored by the Hershey Company. We had two team members last year qualify and compete in the Nationals in Hershey Pennsylvania—all expense paid trip!
This is a program where kids challenge their potential while they explore track and field sports while running, jumping and throwing. There will be two regional meets held on July 6th with the top six finishers going on to the Hershey State Finals on July 8th in Manchester.
A minimum of five finalists at the state meet will be considered for the New England/Atlantic Provinces Team that will compete at the North American Finals in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Junior Golf Camp
Ages: 8-16 years old  
Wolfeboro Parks and Recreation has teamed up with Kingswood Golf Club to offer low cost golf to the community. All participants signing up through Wolfeboro Parks and Recreation will qualify for the reduced rates above.
Our Junior golf camps are like no other. We have PGA and LPGA Professionals on staff who are enthusiastic and ready to help each Junior reach their goals, have fun and learn this great game of golf. All camps focus on Full swing, short game, rules & etiquette. We have a golf tournament on the last day of camp along with a cookout and prizes.
Morning sessions include instruction followed by a lunch break and then in the afternoon they will be playing golf. Children under 13 will be chaperoned on the golf course.

Multi Sports Camp
Experience over 15 different sports from around the world with the US Sports Institute. All activities will take place in an atmosphere which promotes good sportsmanship teamwork and most of all fun. Campers will receive Technical Instruction in each sport then experience the sport in a realistic game situation as well as participating in the exciting USSI World Cup Competition. Campers will receive a t-shirt and certificate. This is a sports camp truly dedicated to children of all sporting abilities
Red Cross Babysitting Course
Ages: 11-15 years old

Running Race Series
Ages: All Ages
Location: Sewall Woods  
Come join local runner Kara Jacobs and runners of all abilities in a weekly 2 mile race at Sewall Woods. Times will be kept and prizes will be given out at the end of the series. The series is for 13 and up. This is an ideal setting for high school athletes to stay motivated and to stay in shape with people of all ages. Re-sults will be kept and posted on coolrunnings.com.

Summer Soccer camp
All Ages & Abiltys
       Coaches look to challenge and enhance the technical skill level of each individual player. The Skill Seeker program will introduce individual and small group tactical concepts, while focusing on enhancing the player technical skills.
Nick Waiver Required.
       The Smart Soccer program focuses on the fundamentals of Soccer. The program is designed to introduce individual technique through fun games and small sided play. Players will master the correct technique for passing, shooting, first touch and dribbling in a week packed of competition. Nick Waiver Required.
       The Mini Stars Camp is designed to give players a fun introduction into soccer. This action packed week of soccer will guide players through their first steps using their favorite characters in a Fun, Safe and Active environment. Nick Waiver Required
       NHPSA is looking for families that would be interested in hosting one of our coaches during the week of camp. Any family that hosts a coach will receive a free camp credit.

Children will participate two days a week in an instructional program that introduces pre-schoolers to organized sports in a safe environment without the competitive component. Parents work together with their children helping them learn all of the basic skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, batting, and much more!
Enrollment limited to 12 per class.

Summer Bus Trips
Bus Trips are scheduled throughout the year. Past trips have included Foxwoods Casino Resort, Boston Holiday Shoppiing and Museums and Six Flags New England.
Summer Day Camp
Ages: 6-8 years old & 9-12
Location: Foss Field/Albee Beach
Whether you sign up for 6-8 year old program, 9-12 year old program, half day or full day camp your campers days will be filled with tons of fun!  Supervised by our trained summer staff, attendees take part in a myriad of different games and activities, all designed to make sure everyone has fun in a safe environment. There will be Albee Beach days once a week along with a weekly field trip. Past field trips have included water parks, whale-watches, York Beach, Fisher Cats, Gunstock and FunTown/SplashTown USA. Plenty of games, arts and crafts, special events and activities to make the campers have a summer they will never forget! Activities focus on group interaction through problem-solving games, sports, projects, beach days, and special events.

Summer Day Camp Swim Lessons
For Day Campers ONLY, these lessons will be offered during Day Camp Beach Days at Albee Beach. Swimming instruction by Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. See pg 14 for description of levels.

Spring Quilter’s Retreat
Ages: 18 years old-Adult  
Location: Wolfeboro Public Library  
Join local quilters for quilting, delicious food, professional massage and more. On Saturday, there will be a show and tell session in the morning. You will receive an instruction packet after you register.

Come on down to a new Wolfeboro Tradition– The Walker Brother’s Circus! Trapeze, ponies, jugglers, acrobats, clowns, bouncy rides and more! This is a great family event! Tickets will be available at Black’s, Bradley’s and Pop Whalen. Sponsored by Wolfeboro Parks and Recrea-tion, proceeds benefit the Friends of Abenaki and The Nick.
Wanna Go Fishing?

Location: Wolfeboro Public Library
Professional fishing guide Curt Golder volunteers to teach young anglers in this comprehensive N.H. Fish & Game program. Topics will include common species of freshwater fish and their various habitats. Students will also become acquainted with some common fishing techniques. The program includes six hours of instruction and a field trip. Includes loaner equipment.
Wilderness Survival Skills Camp
Ages: 8-12            
Location: Abenaki Ski Area
Learn how to make fire with nothing but what you find in the woods, construct a shelter, and cook your own food. Our trained and experienced Wilderness Guide will show you how to survive in the woods and have fun while you’re doing it. We highly recommend reading the book “Hatchet” by Gary Paulsen to help prepare for this exciting class. Bring a small backpack, sunscreen, bug dope, water, and raingear. See you in the woods
Yogo Mornings on the Beach
Ages 16 years and older
Location:  Albee Beach
Ease into the day with a morning yoga session on the Allen Albee Beach. Take part in yoga classes two       mornings a week before the beach opens to the public.  Classes will be led by qualified instructors from the Earth and Sky Yoga Center and rain dates will be available. Participants are asked to provide their own yoga mat.
