WRITTEN PERMITS REQUIRED TO BURN BRUSH AS OF FRIDAY, MARCH 1, 2024

With our unusual weather this season comes a lack of snow cover. As a result written burn permits are required as of Friday, March 1, 2024. Daily brush burn, campfire and seasonal campfire permits are available online at https://www.wolfeboronh.us/fire-rescue-department/news/line-permits-now-available-outside-burning-wolfeboro  or https://nh.burnsafeamerica.com/

“We encourage all who can to take advantage of the on line permitting process,” said Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue Chief Tom Zotti. “It’s fast and easy and the ongoing construction at the Public Safety Building presents parking and access challenges that can easily be avoided.”

State law requires written permits for any type of burning on the ground, including campfires and cooking fires. Permits are not required for most charcoal and gas barbecue grills.

The permit applicant must be at least 18 years old, own the property, and provide a home address and telephone number. A renter needs written permission from the propertyowner. Daily brush permits are only valid for the date they are issued and allow burning between 5pm and 9am on the day of issue.
