NHDOT to meet with Wolfeboro Town Officials regarding NH Route 28 proposed construction

Wolfeboro 29615 Public Officials Meeting 

NHDOT will solicit community support for the preferred alternative and improvements along NH Route 28 between the intersections of Pleasant Valley Road and NH Route 109 (Pickering Corner) in Wolfeboro.


The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will attend the Wolfeboro Selectboard Meeting to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed Wolfeboro NH Route 28 (South Main Street) project.  The project will improve approximately 1.6 miles of NH Route 28 beginning at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and ending at the intersection of NH Route 109 (Pickering Corner) in the Town of Wolfeboro. The purpose of the project and description of work within the Ten-Year Plan includes improving the pavement conditions, drainage and water quality, and mobility and safety for all users of NH 28.


The intent of the meeting is to present the results of the August 2023 Public Informational Meeting survey, solicit Town support for the preferred alternative, and ensuring project decisions meet public transportation needs and community goals and protect and enhance the environment.  The meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, as part of the regularly scheduled Selectboard meeting at the Wolfeboro Town Hall, Great Hall, 84 South Main Street, in Wolfeboro beginning at 6:30pm


An environmental review of the project’s potential impacts on natural and cultural resources is underway in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act.  This project may have an effect on cultural or historic resources that are potentially eligible for or listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Individuals or organizations with a demonstrated interest in the potential impacts to historic resources have an opportunity to become Consulting Parties under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
