TUFTONBORO and WOLFEBORO
Joint Board Meeting for the
Inter-Municipal Agreement on Aquatic Nuisance Plant Control

June 27, 2019 at 9:00 AM, Wolfeboro Town Offices

Meeting Minutes
Present:    Ken Marschner (Wolfeboro-Chair), Linda Murray (Wolfeboro), Bill Marcussen (Tuftonboro), Dan Duffy (Tuftonboro) and Marc Martin (Wolfeboro Milfoil Committee)
Absent:    Steve Wingate (Tuftonboro) – excused; Jim Pineo (Wolfeboro) - excused

Call to Order:    Ken Marschner called the meeting to order at 8:45 am.

Minutes:    Ken Marschner asked that his name be added under New Business (last paragraph). Bill Marcussen moved the amended minutes and Dan Duffy seconded to approve the March 21, 2019 amended minutes.  All voted yes. The motion passed.

Review of MJB Special Revenue Account Sheet since June 5, 2018:  Linda Murray provide a set of financial status reports for both 2018 and 2019 to date.  After review and discussion by the MJB, the reports were accepted without any changes.

Old Business:    Ken mentioned that Dan Duffy had found a paddle and purchased a new short hose for the DASH boat. Ken thanked Dan his efforts

Marc Martin will be removing the worn out rear deck panel and provide a new one for the DASH this summer.

Ken has placed the 2019 boat registration stickers on the DASH.

The DASH will remain in dry dock at Lanes End marina this summer due to other means of dealing with flare ups of milfoil observed during the summer and fall months in both towns.  Tuftonboro will utilize AB Aquatics divers in July for a few days to pull milfoil plants in various locations.  Wolfeboro has not decided as yet on the need for divers and is monitoring any regrowth of milfoil as the summer progresses.

New Business:     A discussion and action on keeping gas in the boat engine tank was not needed because the gas is “stabilized” and should remain satisfactory to use for a couple of years.

As a result of the 1/3/2019 meeting with various towns, the Squam Lakes Association staff and the Lake Winnipesaukee Association (LWA) staff, the MJB will await further discussion about the AmeriCorps workers employed by the LWA in 2020.  LWA provides a training program for invasive weed divers that have use for the DASH.

Adjourned:    9:50 am
Next Meeting: September 26, 2019 at 9:00 AM at the Tuftonboro Town Hall offices.
Respectfully Submitted,
Ken Marschner, Chair
